Construction Machinery for Southeast Asia: Yutong Equipment for Local Infrastructure Projects

Rotary drilling rigs and wheel loaders for Southeast Asian road, bridge and building construction: what to specify, export to regional ports, support.

What Southeast Asian construction projects need

Southeast Asian infrastructure spans island road bridges, delta and river-crossing projects, and urban buildings on soft alluvial ground. The ground is the defining feature: soft clay, delta fill and laterite over a wet monsoon season. A pile that collapses in soft overburden, or a platform that settles in wet fill, stops the program. The equipment that works is the rig that cases through the soft layer and reaches the firmer stratum, sized to the pile spec and the site. We have shipped foundation rigs and loaders across Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Myanmar.

Foundation rigs for soft alluvial ground

River and delta bridge piers in Southeast Asia usually pile through soft alluvial clay into a firmer stratum. A fuel-fired rotary drilling rig drives casing through the soft overburden so the hole does not collapse, then reaches design depth. For near-settled urban work where noise matters, the electric rotary drilling rig runs quieter. The full foundation range is on the foundation construction equipment page.

Because the region has a wet monsoon, equipment is spec'd with corrosion protection and drainage so the rig keeps working through rain. For a worked example of pile work on a river-crossing bridge program, see the China expressway bridge pile case; the casing-through-soft-ground logic transfers to delta bridges.

Ground improvement and earthmoving

Where a building or platform goes on soft made ground, untreated fill settles under load. A dynamic compaction machine densifies the upper layer so the platform settles within the building's tolerance. Behind the foundation rig, a wheel loader loads trucks and stockpiles so the pile work does not wait on spoils moving. The high-speed rail pile case here shows how a pile program is planned across a corridor.

The point of matching earthmoving to the foundation rig is that a pile project stalls if the loader cannot keep spoils moving. We spec the loader around the rig's spoil rate so the foundation work stays on schedule through the monsoon.

Export to Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh and Bangkok

Construction equipment ships from Shanghai or Qingdao to Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh, Laem Chabang or Manila, a short sea voyage of roughly 10 to 20 days, then overland to the project site. We prepare the full export document set - commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, export declaration, CE/ISO certificates and certificate of origin - and work with forwarders who know regional ports.

The short sea leg is a logistics advantage for spare parts: a starter fast-moving-parts kit ships with the first order, and a replacement part is on a 10 to 20 day sea freight rather than a 40-day one. More on the after-sales support page. Mining buyers should also look at the Southeast Asia mining equipment page, and special-vehicle buyers at the Southeast Asia special vehicle page.

Payment terms are standard T/T: 30 percent deposit with the order, 70 percent balance before shipment. For established contractors and project-scale orders we can discuss an irrevocable L/C at sight from an acceptable bank. We quote in US dollars on FOB, CIF or DAP terms. Frequently asked questions

Which Southeast Asian countries do you ship to?

We export to Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Myanmar. Equipment ships to Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh, Laem Chabang or Manila, then overland to site.

What suits Southeast Asian ground?

Projects often sit on soft alluvial clay, delta fill and laterite. A rotary rig cases through soft overburden to a firmer stratum, and ground improvement treats soft fill.

How is the monsoon handled on site?

Equipment is spec'd with corrosion protection and drainage so the rig keeps working through rain, and the spoil plan accounts for wet slush ground.

What payment terms apply?

Standard is 30 percent T/T deposit and 70 percent before shipment. For established contractors and project orders we can discuss an irrevocable L/C at sight. We quote in US dollars.

How are spare parts supported?

A starter fast-moving-parts kit ships with the order. Sea freight to Jakarta or Ho Chi Minh is 10 to 20 days; critical parts go by air. We recommend a 90-day kit on site.
