The Crawler Dynamic Compaction Machine is a crawler-mounted ground improvement machine designed for deep dynamic compaction treatment. With its heavy drop weight and tall leading, it effectively consolidates loose fill, collapsible loess, and saturated soft clay, improving bearing capacity and reducing post-construction settlement for infrastructure projects ranging from highways to industrial foundations.
The Crawler Dynamic Compaction Machine delivers exceptional compaction energy through its heavy drop weight and tall leading. The controlled free-fall generates stress waves that propagate deep into the fill layer, effectively densifying loose soils and improving overall ground bearing capacity.
With optimized tamper geometry and drop height, this machine achieves treatment depths significantly beyond conventional static rollers. It addresses problematic soils including collapsible loess, loose sand fills, and saturated soft clay without requiring excavation and replacement.
The wide-track crawler base provides a stable working platform capable of supporting high-energy drops without excessive vibration transfer. Outriggers can be deployed for additional stability during maximum-energy compaction.
Yutong dynamic compaction machines have been deployed on airport runways, port terminals, industrial parks, highway embankments, and water reservoir dams worldwide. The technology is recognized for its cost-effectiveness compared to alternative ground improvement methods.

Loose fill is the silent killer of infrastructure. Whether a port container yard built on reclaimed land, an airport runway over river sediment, or an industrial plant on collapsible loess, the problem is the same: the ground looks compact on day one but settles unevenly after the building is on it. Excavating and replacing bad soil layer by layer is slow and expensive. Dynamic compaction solves it from the top down — a heavy tamper is lifted by the leading and dropped in free fall, sending a stress wave deep into the fill to densify it in a fraction of the time.
The Yutong YTQH series covers the full energy range. The YTQH350CS delivers about 350 t·m for lighter, shallower improvement; the YTQH450CS sits in the middle; the YTQH750CS reaches 750 t·m for deep fill on major projects. The range-extended electric YTQH750HE delivers the same 750 t·m with lower noise and zero local exhaust at the work point, which is what lets the machine keep working near urban-perimeter sites where a diesel unit would draw complaints. Wide-track undercarriage and deployable outriggers keep the tall leading stable through the heaviest drops.
Yutong has exported ground-improvement machinery to more than 60 countries and holds ISO 9001 quality management. Every job is backed by on-site commissioning and tamping-parameter advice, so the grid spacing and drop count are set against your actual fill rather than a generic table.
Compaction energy in t·m is the quickest proxy for how deep you can treat. Around 350 t·m (YTQH350CS) treats loose fill to roughly 4–6 m for light buildings and roads. Move to 450 t·m for 6–8 m treatment and 750 t·m (YTQH750CS / YTQH750HE) for the 8–10 m depths typical of port yards, runways and heavy plant foundations. Oversize energy wastes money; undersize it and the fill at depth never densifies.
Choose the diesel YTQH350CS / YTQH750CS for remote land reclamation and quarry sites where noise does not matter. Choose the range-extended electric YTQH750HE where the project sits near a town, a hospital or an environmentally sensitive boundary — same 750 t·m energy, lower noise, zero local exhaust, and an on-board range extender so it still works without a charge pad.
Dynamic compaction is soil-specific. Run a test pad first to confirm drop count, square-grid spacing and the depth of tamper crater for your fill. We supply the operating parameters and quality-control method from that test, so the full-area campaign starts from proven numbers instead of guesswork.
Runways demand flat, even settlement over a long strip. Recommended class: 600–750 t·m rigs for deep fill under the pavement, with a test strip to set drop counts.
Reclaimed ground under container gantries cannot settle. Recommended class: YTQH750CS or YTQH750HE for the deep, heavy-duty treatment the yard slab and rail require.
Factory floors and equipment pads need uniform bearing capacity. Recommended class: 350–450 t·m machines for the shallower fill under light and medium structures.
Bridge approaches settle bumpily if the fill is loose. Recommended class: 450 t·m machines to densify the embankment and approach fill before paving.
Near built-up areas the noise and exhaust matter. Recommended class: range-extended electric YTQH750HE so the tamping campaign meets local environmental limits.
Each dynamic compaction machine is shipped with the full export document set — factory certificate of conformity, packing list, commercial invoice and certificate of origin — plus localized operator manuals. Because the technique is parameter-sensitive, we provide tamping-parameter guidance and can dispatch an engineer for commissioning and operator training on the first project.
Machines carry a 12-month warranty, backed by ISO 9001 receiving, in-process and pre-delivery inspection. Wear items — tamper head, hoist rope, wire rope and hydraulic components — are quoted as spare-parts kits, and the export engineering team replies within 48 hours. Send us your fill type, required treatment depth and project location at market@yutonggroup.com and we will recommend the energy class and whether the electric or diesel model suits the site.
The YTQH series ranges from about 350 t·m on the YTQH350CS through 450 t·m and up to 750 t·m on the YTQH750CS and the range-extended electric YTQH750HE. Higher t·m treats deeper fill; lower energy suits shallow, lighter improvement.
Depending on energy level and soil, treatment depth runs roughly 5 to 10 m, and beyond with 600 to 750 t·m. A trial test section first confirms the drop count, grid spacing and final bearing capacity for your fill.
A vibratory roller only densifies the top 0.3 to 1.0 m in lifts and requires the fill to be placed and rolled layer by layer. Dynamic compaction drops a heavy weight from height, sending a stress wave through the full loose fill in one pass, so it treats deep fill far faster and without multi-layer placement.
It works well on loose granular fill, gravel, sand, collapsible loess and miscellaneous fill. Very soft saturated clay needs prefabricated vertical drains first to let water escape. A site investigation and test pad are recommended.
Typical uses are airport runways, port container yards, industrial plant foundations, highway embankments, reservoir dams and large land reclamation, where the ground must settle before structures are built on it.
The YTQH750HE delivers the same 750 t·m energy as the diesel model but with lower noise and zero local exhaust at the work point, which matters on urban-perimeter or environmentally sensitive sites. It keeps working where charging is limited because the range extender tops the battery.
The standard warranty is 12 months. We ship the full export document set, offer on-site commissioning and tamping-parameter advice, and answer technical queries within 48 hours by the export engineering team.
