The plant at a glance
Yutong Group sits at No. 88 Yugong Road in the Zhengzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, Henan Province. The campus houses the assembly lines for the six product families we export: mining machinery, special vehicles, hoisting equipment, foundation construction equipment, environmental sanitation machinery and earthmoving machinery. It is the core heavy-industry enterprise of the Yutong group, which also builds buses and light commercial vehicles on the same site, so the heavy-equipment lines draw on group-level suppliers for axles, electrical systems and battery packs.
A factory tour is the fastest way to see whether a supplier can actually build what they quote. We host buyers from mining houses, municipal fleets and infrastructure contractors who walk the line, watch a pre-delivery run and meet the engineer who will own their order. Book a visit through the contact page.
The assembly lines: four product families, one flow
Mining truck line. Rigid dump trucks from the YT3621 / YT3761 / YTG50 class up to the 100 t YTG100 and the electric YTK series are built on a framed assembly line where the frame, drivetrain, dump body and cab come together at stations. The electric sub-line adds the LFP pack, BMS and high-voltage wiring harness.
Sanitation vehicle line. The YTZ BEV sweeper and washer range upfits commercial chassis with brush decks, water tanks, suction systems and battery packs. This line handles the 4 t to 18 t municipal range.
Drilling rig line. The YTR rotary blasthole rigs and tracked DTH rigs build the mast, rotary head, feed winch and undercarriage onto the chosen carrier.
Crane and compaction line. The crawler and truck cranes and the dynamic compaction machines build the boom, winch and base frame. Welding on the booms and frames is robotic on the critical seams and manual on the rest.
Welding and fabrication: where the frame lifetime is decided
The frame and dump body of a mining truck take the heaviest fatigue load on the machine. The welds on the main frame rails and the body floor are robot-welded in a fixed sequence with certified wire, and the welds are inspected by ultrasonic or magnetic-particle check on critical joints. A frame that welds poorly in year one will develop cracks by year three under repeated haul-road impact, so the welding line is one of the most closely watched stations in the plant.
Sheet metal for the dump body is cut by plasma and pressed in-house; the body floor uses abrasion-resistant steel chosen for the ore type (harder steel for granite, slightly softer for coal). The body then goes through the paint line, where a shot-blast prep and water-based primer and topcoat give the corrosion resistance an export truck needs on a sea voyage and in a humid tropical mine.
Quality control: three gates before shipment
Gate 1 - incoming. Every batch of steel, every axle, every battery pack is inspected on receipt. A rejected batch does not reach the line. This is where supplier quality is enforced, not argued about later.
Gate 2 - in-process. Each assembly station has a checklist the line leader signs off. Torque values on critical fasteners, alignment on the driveline, and high-voltage insulation on electric trucks are logged to the unit's serial-number record. After delivery, the same unit data feeds fleet telematics for remote equipment monitoring.
Gate 3 - pre-delivery. Before a unit is released for packing, it runs a bench test: engine or motor run, hydraulic function, brake test, and an on-road roll around the factory test loop. A failed gate sends the unit back to the line, not out to the customer.
The whole system runs under ISO 9001 process control. Certificates are listed on the certificates page and ship with the export document set.
R&D center: where the next model gets worked out
The R&D center on the campus handles vehicle layout, drivetrain matching, battery packaging and finite-element analysis of the frame. When a customer sends us a route profile - daily tonnage, haul distance, ramp grade, material density - it is the R&D team that runs the truck selection and tells us which model and which body configuration fits. The same team owns the electric drivetrain integration: motor selection, battery sizing, regen calibration and the thermal management loop that keeps LFP cells in their comfort band.
Group-level engineering support comes from the Yutong group's bus and light-vehicle platforms. The LFP chemistry, BMS software and motor control software in a YTK mining truck share roots with the group's electric bus program, which means the battery and motor systems are not unproven prototypes - they are production-tested components adapted to a mining duty cycle. See the R&D section on the about us page.
Supply chain: group-level scale for critical parts
We do not build every component on site. Axles, engines or electric motors, battery packs, hydraulic pumps and valve blocks come from tier-one suppliers within the Yutong group or from established external suppliers contracted through the group's procurement organisation. That matters for two reasons. First, the purchase volume behind the group keeps component cost down and supply stable. Second, the spare parts you will need in year three of a pit operation are the same parts the group supports across its bus and truck service network, so availability does not depend on a single small line.
For exported customers, we bundle a starter fast-moving-parts kit with the first order - filters, seals, brake linings, brushes, seal kits - so the site is not waiting on a 35-day sea freight for a consumable. Read more on the after-sales support page.
Certifications and export readiness
| Certification / document | What it covers |
|---|---|
| ISO 9001 | Quality management system across the production lines. |
| CE marking | Product-level conformity for applicable export markets. |
| Certificate of origin | China-origin document for customs at the discharge port. |
| Export documentation set | Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, export declaration. |
| Serial-number build record | Traceability from raw material to pre-delivery test for every unit. |
The current certificate list is shown on the certificates page. If your tender requires a specific certificate for your destination country, ask at quote stage and we will confirm what is available.
Green manufacturing on the line
Because we now sell electric mining trucks and BEV sanitation vehicles, the factory's own environmental footprint is part of the customer's story. The assembly hall roof carries a solar array that feeds site power, the paint line uses water-based coatings meeting GB 21910 limits, and battery pack assembly runs in a climate-controlled clean area with fume extraction. The electric product line is built under the same roof as the diesel trucks, so the quality culture is shared across both.
Frequently asked questions
Can I visit the factory before ordering?
Yes. Buyers are welcome at the Zhengzhou facility at No. 88 Yugong Road to inspect the assembly lines, watch a pre-delivery test run and meet the engineering team. We arrange airport pickup in Zhengzhou and plan the visit around your order stage.
What quality certifications does the factory hold?
The production system runs under ISO 9001, with product-level certificates covering the export markets we serve. Certificates are supplied with the export document set on every shipment. See the certificates page for the current list.
How do you control quality on exported equipment?
Three gates: incoming material inspection, in-process checks at each assembly station, and a pre-delivery inspection before release. Every unit carries a serial number and build record so a warranty claim traces back to the line.
Do you build to custom export specifications?
Yes. Right-hand-drive configurations, regional climate packages, local-language operator manuals and destination-specific homologation are handled at order stage. Tell us the destination country and the application, and engineering will quote the configuration.
Book a factory tour or request a build record
If you are evaluating a fleet purchase, the fastest way to verify the supplier is to walk the line. Tell us your travel dates and the product families you want to inspect, and we will arrange the visit. For a specific model's build record, spec sheet or certification set, use the downloads page or contact the export team. We ship from Zhengzhou to over 60 countries and build to FOB / CIF terms.
