With the continuous expansion of elevated bridges across China, there is an urgent need for bridge inspection vehicles with longer working platforms, wider spans, and greater heights for both inspection and construction purposes. Yutong Heavy Equipment quickly responded to customer needs and, through multiple technological innovations, broke through a decade-long development bottleneck, officially launching the 4-axle, 26-meter bridge inspection vehicle.
Product Overview
The new 4-axle, 26-meter bridge inspection vehicle addresses a growing market demand for equipment capable of accessing wider and higher bridge structures. Its extremely wide and high span allows it to cross all types of noise barriers and obstacles such as anti-throw nets. Construction inspection coverage reaches 98 percent, making it suitable for the inspection and construction of all highways with twelve lanes in both directions and below, as well as all first- and second-class highway bridges across China.
Design Innovations
The main boom is telescopic, with a maximum extended span of 4.75 meters. The hexagonal structure of the main boom provides excellent bending and torsional resistance. During operation, the counterweight does not exceed the vehicle body's dimensions, thus not affecting traffic in adjacent lanes. The work platform features a two-stage telescopic, three-section structure, allowing for a maximum inspection range of 26 meters. The platform width has been increased to 1.32 meters, and it is constructed from 6-series high-strength aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, resulting in a 35 percent weight reduction. This achieves the critical goal of extended length without increased weight.
Technical Specifications
Front outriggers feature 3 support wheels while rear outriggers have 2 support wheels, providing better stability during operation. The extra-wide span reaches 4.35 meters for the display vehicle, with a maximum span of 4.75 meters. When the outriggers reach the sidewalk, the span extends to 5.15 meters. In addition to the impressive span width, the span height reaches 5.2 meters, allowing the vehicle to cross virtually all types of sound barriers, anti-throw nets, and other similar structures commonly encountered on modern highway bridges.
